A RETURN OF THE LEGEND
The present book is not a scholarly investigation on the history of the Imperial Porcelain Factory, but a richly illustrated story focusing on the last fifteen years in the activity of Russia's earliest porcelain enterprise, marked by the beginning of a revival at the factory with the assistance of Russian capitals after the dramatic 1990s and by gradual regaining of its former grandeur and glory.

The museum, established at the factory in 1844, at the beginning of the 21st century came under the patronage of the State Hermitage and, remaining within the factory's walls, has become a part of one of the world's major treasure houses.

The art book contains around 500 illustrations vividly featuring the burgeoning, development and preservation of high artistic traditions in Russian porcelain.

The book provides a wide range of works by contemporary artists of the Imperial Porcelain Factory, many of which appear here for the first ever time. The book also contains the present-day Chronology of the Imperial Porcelain Factory, data on the technology of porcelain production and the factory's marks and backstamps.
